Goodbye Rollins and welcome UNC Greensboro

What a strange feeling to receive a new group while my last one is still not out of the country! Usually I say goodbye at the airport knowing that is the end! My Rollins' students just went on a week-end to Guanacaste but they are there with Johnny, a natural guide. Therefore I said goodbye on Friday afternoon after the graduation ceremony.

The next day I went down to Heredia by public bus. The journey went smoothly listening to music, thinking or sleeping. Nando, the CPI driver was waiting for me at the airport and drove me to the Desea, a hostel very near the school.

Sunday at noon at went to the airport to pick my new group up: UNC Greensboro. Their flight was delayed but I waited speaking with Dona Jonle who was there with me. The group got there around 3 and we went to a mall to have lunch. They all went to have or McDonald, or Burger King or KFC... well they will have time to have rice and beans during their 3 weeks in Costa Rica!

We headed directly to Monteverde and arrived there around 8pm. It was time to meet with their host families. Time for me to go back to my flat and enjoy a good night sleep!

My little Frenchy’s birthday

26/05/2011

A lot of photos for this week because as the time is going, I’m doing the same activities and excursions so not too much to say or describe but a lot of photos to share.
This week with my Rollins’ students we had a blast several time but the best was on Thursday. Indeed it was Mael’s birthday so we celebrate it from the start of the day until late at night. For an American girl we cannot expect anything else to expect on her 21st birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAEL!!!!

The day was very funny and started with the Sky trek tour: the canopy. It was the best tour I’ve done so far with them or with any other company. As the guides know me by now, I could ask them to come with one of them…why? Because it’s a lot funnier, you can do crazy thing and you know that’s why I’m best at!  I don’t have a lot of picture because I forgot to give my camera to one of the group member. When I remembered, Britney kindly accept to be my photographer! Thanks Brittany!! So I was able to do the superman (remember the superloca?^^) upside-down or even zip line with my feet in the air and therefore my head down. It was AMAZING! It was such a good experience. My next group is also going to Sky Trek next week so I hope to be able to do that again.

After they had Spanish classes and I worked at the office (that’s the boring part of the day). At 7pm we all meet again for Royner’s latin dance class. We had a lot of fun dancing together. As usual for a Thursday night, we headed to Mata E Cana to enjoy the Latino night. Once again we had a blast altogether, celebrating Mael birthday as we should have!

That's my Frenchy girl ;)

My teacher’s son who arrived 2 days before was there we us. Around midnight we decided to say to the kids (as if I was much older…) that it was time to go back home. We accompanied them to their houses and then decided to go back to have a last drink all three together. It was THE best idea ever. I’ll explain why don’t worry ;) When we were walking towards the bar, a dog ran at us, or better, ran at Royner and was jumping on him… It was Banjo: Royner’s dog that had been lost for 2 months. You can imagine than both of them were very happy to see each other again after such a long time. It was a perfect end of this perfect day!
