D-DAY

02/03/2011

It Started!!!  Today is D-day! No turning back possible and let's face it...Would I dare cancelled everything? No way!!!!

Last look at my room which was clean for once, last look at my home... my street.... the main street...my dad's office....the main street....my street...my home...Well it was quicker that I thought: but what kind of trip it is if you don't forget something while leaving? The insurance papers are a quite important and they might be helpful if I have some problems overthere (let's hope I won't need them!). And once again last look at my house...Well I'm not going to say it twice so let's say: goodbye to everything and let's go for the adventure!

My mum kindly drove me to the International Airport of Basel for the first step of my journey. The airport is 1h15 away from my village so we had some time to speak with my mother. She "kindly" point out the fact that this trip were going to be the last crazy experience of my life :S :S :S. Thinking about it, even if I don't like it, she was right!! Indeed, coming back to Europe in September, it will be time to finish my studies and settle myself somewhere to find a job :S And this thought is really SCARRY!!  I'll will leave this in a corner of my mind and focus on my trip...my last..SHUUSH! I said I'll forget that for the next 6 months! :D

                           Goodbye doggy!!

Right now I'm in the lounge of the airport waiting for the plane. I take advantage of the time I've left to give you some news about the next step of my trip.

Getting to Madrid, my friend and ex colleague Smara is going to pick me up at the airport to drive me to AIM office: exactly a month after leaving my job, I'll be back at the office! It will be really nice to see them all again! After what we'll leave for Alcala, a town (important not to say village, isn't it Smara?^^) near Madrid where Smara leave and she kindly offered me hospitality for the night. I'm not sure yet but I could bet a lot that we are going for some cervezas and tapas! The best way to say goodbye to Europe!

Tomorrow, I'll try not to miss my plane for Houston! It leaves at 11:25am from the Airport of Madrid Barajas. After 16 hours of flight, I'll arrive, for the first time of my life, in North America at 08:25pm, local time. This means 3:25am on friday night for the European. I'll spend the night in the Airport (hopefully they will not through me out!)

On friday morning, at 09:10am in local time[FYI 04:10pm European time], I'll leave the USA for San Jose, Costa Rica where I will land at 12:50pm local time [FYI 07:50pm European time].

I'll have 12hours in the Houston Airport to give you a lot of information about my journey to Houston and show you pictures of stupid things I'll have taken in the plane (yes...I know myself well^^)

Goodbye from now! See you again at Houston!
