Cerro Amigo

06/05/2011

Today I went to Cerro Amigo to do a hiking walk. One single word to describe it: exhausting! I was tempted to stop a lot of time but strangled to keep going. I stopped to take some photos (it’s the perfect excuse) or just to lie down, enjoying the wild vegetation and animals.

I’m not used to hikes and I need to prepare myself for the volcano Baru that I’m going to climb with my father in August. This hike was a first training… I’ll have to get better or they are going to leave me behind at Baru… I have no doubt they would :P

Once up there I was amazed! There was a lot of wind but I had the sensation to be alone in the world, on the top of the world. It was so peaceful! I could have stayed there for hours and hours, just enjoying the calm, the wind and the forest stretching all around me: Wonderful!

Back home and after a well-deserved -and necessary^^- shower, I had a lot of energy and was curious not to be tired. It’s a bit crazy but I’m crazy after all!
Nanou came to cook at my flat and we discussed about her next group. Tomorrow she is going to pick up a new group and she is going to share it with dona Jonle to keep training herself for his job. Royner joined us after his class at 8pm and we all had a glass of very good wine, joking altogether. Nanou made us laugh so much!!! She bought an “energy” bracelet in Heredia because it was cheaper than in the US, she tried it once back home and realized it wasn’t working….she wanted to go back to Heredia and ask her money back…which is here impossible! It’s crazy just thinking about it ;) It was hard for us to explain that to her as we couldn’t stop laughing. Apparently in the US, even if it’s 2 years later, if you still have the bill, you can go to the shop and have your money back OO…if it’s true, I’ll never open a shop in the state but I will go and live there! :D

As she still had to pack, she left us to go back to her room. With Royner we decided and it was Friday night and that it was Mata E Cana time!! We went there where we met Chris and 2 of his friends…French guys from Paris : Matthieu and Adrian. We had fun all together, speaking about their job, the CPI, Monteverde, Costa Rica…Etc. I was quite impressed – but very pleased- when Royner invited me to dance Salsa: it was class time jajaja! I think I’m betting better but I still need a lot of practice!
