Business week

16-20/05/2011

After the very “special” first day, the rest of the week went smoothly. My group being composed by students from master of “international business”, the first reasons of their visit is not learning Spanish but understand the business in Costa Rica and learn more about the way the Americans do businesses in this country. It was very interesting for me because I had the change to go with them to the different institutions. We went to CINDE which helps companies to settle themselves in the country. They help them with market studies, information about competency and also they help them with all the paperwork you need to do before coming. It was a very interesting visit.

I can’t say I’ve never been in the USA anymore. No don’t worry, we didn’t take a flight to the states for a visit (that would have been nice though), we just went to the US embassy in San José. There we had presentation from the political attaché, the market attaché and the economy specialist. All of them explained us about their job, how the embassy help the companies and what the American firms can get by settling themselves in CR.

One in all, it was a very interesting week for me as I was able to have a lot of information that will be very valuable for any paperwork I’ll have to do next year.
