Jan Parson arrived to Costa Rica

07/04/2011

"Delayed"! That was the only word I could see on the screen when I get at the airport. "Delayed" but no indication of time: would it be 10 minutes? 1/2 hour? 2 hours? I sat down outside, waiting for my third group, 2nd managing alone. I was lucky because it was the second option; they only had 1/2hours delay. Anxious as always, I tried to do my best to give all the information without missing anything. My driver is Ronny again and I'm very happy because we work very well together. He is a great help!
Directly when they get there we went to have lunch at Super Snack where they could eat typical food as Casado o Gallo Pinto as well as American food as Hamburgers. Funnily enough, everyone asked for typical meal. We went to the school to do the test and give more infos about Costa Rica, their host family and the planning of the next day. We went on very well with the group and we bounded quite easily.
At 5pm they were picked up by their families and after checking some stuff for the next day at the office, I was able to go back to my own host family. They are very nice. I shared my room with Muni who also has a group in Heredia. It's a bit strange for me because Muni is like at home, she has been living with this family for the last 4 years!!! Therefore I never know how to act with them. We'll see how it's going to go!
