Canopy in Boquete and Panama City

21/08/2011

Today we got up around 7:30am to go to the Tree Trek to do zip lining. My dad had never done it before so I wanted to introduce him to that activity. We had 14 platforms for 12 cables and I must say it was a nice canopy. It wasn’t as impressive as the Sky Trek (and the guides as not as funny as Alberto or Berny) nor as “extreme” as Canopy Extremo but it was a good one. We had fun, especially as the cables were all one after the other: we didn’t have to walk anything. It was pretty good for me as my hip is still hurting and I can walk “normally”…at least that makes my dad laugh a lot jajaja.

Our bus to go to the Canopy
Volcano Baru: Can you see us on the top? Jajaja

Going back from the canopy to the hostel, it was raining so we decided not to do the horseback riding but to go directly to David and see if we could catch a bus for Panama City. We got to David at 1:35pm and had a bus to Panama City at 2:25. Meanwhile we bought some snacks for the journey:
 Kind of Toffee eggs

Chocolate and Toffee puddingin banana leaves

My dad trying the Plantains crisps.

Some landscapes we saw on the way:

We arrived at 10pm at the capital. For the first sights of it it looks like New York… I wasn’t expecting that at all!

We checked in at Luna’s Castle hostel. It looks nice but it’s very hot in the rooms. We are pretty tired so I won’t write more for today: it’s time to go to bed.Well my dad just started a cards game with some people from the hostel so I think I'm going to go to bed and he is going to practise his English and Spanish playing: is there a best way to learn?

Tomorrow: Panama City + Canal
