The day when my students made me cry!

14/04/2011

The day was nice, not a lot to tell about the official day in CPI. The kids had Spanish class while I was doing some work, then we went to cook and then dance class. I missed Royner in this class. Luis was nice but in 1 hour we learnt 3 different dances: Salsa, Cumbia y Merengue. It was hard for the kids so remember all the steps of all the dances. Especially as they didn’t know anything before coming^^’ They had a lot of fun so that’s the most important.

I knew that Tim added another ingredient in the rice...Finger!!!!

Kim with a knife....scarry!

 I LOVE SALSA!

What made this day amazing was the night!!! Don’t look at me like that, wait to have more news before judging.
Jan organized a farewell party at their flat and we had an amazing time over there! The kids went there just after the dance class but I had to wait until 5pm because I had work to do at the office. As soon as I had finished, I ran to my home, take a shower, change, dry my hair and run back to the school. Chris was also going to the party so we shared a taxi to go to “los Volcanes”. I brought drinks and snacks to share with them. They had ordered pizza, casados and arroz. We talked, played and after came the best part. Riley was cold so I gave him my little jacket: so funny!!

Jan had organized a premium ceremony. She had done a wonderful job. Every kid received a bag of candies, a pins and a diploma. The pin concerned the rafting. If the student was in the “kind” boat, they were called “princess” and received a badge of a disney’s princess. If there were with me, trying to pull the other in the water, they were called pirates! And received an eye patched. The diploma concerned something that happened during the week for the kids. Therefore the 2 who got lost on the first day received the prize of “people who can find their way in a foreign city”. Another one got the prize “the one who dared to eat everything”…etc. It was amazing!!! Jan told me she wanted to do a ceremony but I didn’t think a minute about something that good!  And even more, I didn’t expect was to receive also a diploma”. I was shocked when she called my name at the end!!  I received the bag of candies, the diploma where everyone has written a message, an eye patched and a Pirate headband (which I just LOVE!!) When I read their messages, my eyes filled with tears, I couldn’t myself. I’m going to miss them so much!!!!!!!

 Capitana de los piratas!!

We then all gathered around, put some share in front of the wall of the apartments and watched “the Illusionist”, I had already seen the movie but it’s such a good movie that I didn’t mind! It was funny, I sat next to Tim and Riley sat in front of me, his back leaning against my legs. It was so funny!

I had an amazing time!! I don’t want them to go!!

GOODBYE!!!
