Sorry that my articles are getting smaller and smaller but I have less and less time to write and put photos.
Today was a short day in the sense that we didn’t do a lot of different things. We left Medellin at 6:30 with a little 8 places bus in direction of Manizales, the capital of the coffee zone. We stopped to have breakfast after 2 hours of driving.

I especially love the “caja” which was a real cage.
In my head Manizales was a little town in the middle of coffee plantation…well I was just a bit wrong: it IS a town in the middle of coffee but it’s also a town of 450 000 inhabitants!! So you can imagine how surprise I was getting there and seeing the town!
We arrived at the hostel, did the check in and start organizing the 3 next days. We booked the tour for el Parque de los Nevados. Another challenge as we are going to climb up to 4850 meters… we’ll see how far I go this time. We are going to sleep there and have another hike the next morning before finishing by a bath in the hot springs. Why do I give you so much information about the next days? Just because I won’t bring my computer over there so won’t be able to post for a few days as I don’t know if I will have a connection in Laeticia!
We then headed to a plantation farm an hour out of Manizales. It was a very instructive tour even if I’ve done a lot of coffee tour in Costa Rica.
Nice way of finishing the tour!
At 6:30 we were back at Manizales city center and we did some shopping or I did some shopping should I say. ;-) We had a typical dinner…well let’s say it’s typical in Asia as we ate at a Asian restaurant.
Back at the hotel, we packed everything and got ready for the next day :-)
Tomorrow: Parque de Los Nevados.
