1st groupe arrival

05/03/2011 end of the day

Yesterday night I met Rony, also called "chiquitin", the driver who will accompany us for the 2 weeks. Chiquitin??? What's the hell is Chiquitin you might ask. Well here in Central America the men are not that tall so basically they are small...WOW! what a deduction ;) and in spanish, Chiquitin means very small! It's no more complicated than that ;)

Then it was time to leave. GOODBYE CPI HEREDIA!!
Feeling like having a nap?? Hammock time!!

The group was planned to land at 7:20 and we were there at 7:10. I must admit I bacame a bit nervous when the screen showed "landed" for the flight coming from Phoenix. Everything went fine, the 7 students are very nice and their 3 teachers are great. For the presentation there is Emily, their Spanish teacher, Yvonne, her mother and Suzy another teacher. The students are: Taylor and his sister Kaylee, Robert, Maya, Martina, Sara and Nadia.

We then went to have a pizza because they were starving and no typical restaurant was open at 8pm. Here the people usually eat at 6pm. Another stop was at the supermarket to buy some snacks for the 5 hours' journey of the following day.
The hotel we were in was just WOW. It's nice to begin a trip in a five-star hotel!

We had even the opportunity to see part of a traditionnal wedding...well we were curious about the noise coming out of one of the room and had a look when the doors opened to let some dancers out.

A few problems of keys and fridge in the rooms but it was settled quite quickly and it was bed time !

I shared a room with Muni and that was the view we had...nice isn't it?
